Bulldogs down Fliers for District Title

The Madison volleyball team earned its second straight District championship last night at the Middle School Gym. The Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss to Flandreau, winning three games to one.

Strong starts helped Madison out in all of its games. The Bulldogs started the first game on a 6-1 run to down Flandreau 25-15, while the Fliers held off a late Madison rally to win the second game 25-23. Madison had to hold off several Flandreau rallies in the last two games, winning on scores of 25-18 and 25-23 to improve to 16-11 on the season.

Senior Outside Hitter Lindsey Rook had a big night for the Bulldogs, serving 11-11 from the line and notching 8 kills. Amanda Dailing had 11 kills while Christa Paul led the front-line attack with five blocks.

Madison now plays Sioux Falls Christian in the Region 3-A championship. That game will be next Tuesday in Sioux Falls and can be heard on AM 1390.
