Madison CC in Region 2A Meet

Cross-Country’s “second season” begins today as Madison hosts the Region 2A Meet. Action is set to start at 4:00.

The Bulldog runners are coming off a third-place finish in last week’s Big 8 Conference Meet. Head Coach Bob Cordts feels that the Bulldog runners are physically as ready as they are going to be.

The top three boys and girls teams and the top 20 runners in each race qualify for next Saturday’s state meet in Huron. Cordts says Dell Rapids, Sioux Valley and Garretson are strong favorites for the boys, while McCook Central boasts a strong girls’ team. He feels that the Bulldogs could be “dark horse” favorites in terms of qualifying a team.

While Cordts says this team has not had the success as previous teams, he has had the most fun coaching this group. The meet begins at 4:00 today at the Madison Golf and Country Club.
