Bulldogs split wrestling duals

The Madison wrestling team drew a split Tuesday night as it traveled to Elk Point-Jefferson for a triangular. The Bulldogs edged the host team 39-37, but lost to Vermillion 60-15.

Madison’s middle weights got things rolling against the Huskies, as David Bergeron at 130, Roger Fender at 135, Tyler Converse at 140 all pinned their opponents to start the match. Zach Ordal at 145 kept the win streak going with a 3-1 decision, while Tyrel Red Bird at 160 and Mason Riedesel at 215 also picked up pins.

Vermillion featured several ranked wrestlers at the Bulldogs managed just three wins against the Tanagers. Wyatt Fender won by decision at 103, while Jon Waba picked up a win by forfeit at 112. Mason Riedesel rounded out the Bulldog scoring, getting his second pin of the night.

Madison is back in action this Saturday, as it travels to Watertown for the Watertown Dual Team Tournament.
