Lady Bulldogs falter in Second half, lose to Beresford

It was a tale of two halves last night for the Madison Lady Bulldogs basketball team. After building up a halftime lead, the Bulldogs struggled in the second half, losing to Beresford 61-50 in Beresford.
The first half was a back-and-forth struggle, as the score was tied three times before Madison took a 25-19 halftime lead. But the Watchdogs buckled down defensively, forcing 11 turnovers and outscoring the Bulldogs in the second half 42-26 to get its second win of the season.
Freshman forward Allison Klostergaard had a big night for Beresford, leading the Watchdogs with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Taryn Twite and Jessica Finch also scored 10 points each as Bersford won the rebound battle 32-30.
Madison was led by Mikayla McNary's 14 points, while Kaitlyn Higgins added 10 points. Christa Paul and Brianna Postma each had 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs fell to 2-4 on the season.
The Bulldogs return home on Saturday, when they host Sisseton at the Middle School gym.
