Madison rallies, tops Lennox

Madison's boys' basketball team overcame a disastrous first half last night to get its sixth win of the season. The Bulldogs bounced back from a halftime deficit to down Lennox 66-42 at Lennox High School.
Top-rated Madison struggled early in the first half, committing 13 turnovers while just trailing 24-22 at halftime. The Bulldogs went on a 13-3 run in the third quarter to take the lead for good, outscoring the Orioles 44-18 in the second half to improve to 6-0 on the regular season, 2-0 in the Big 8 Conference.
Chad White led all scorers with 21 points for Madison, while teammate Tony Fiegen added 18 points, including 10 in the third quarter. Junior forward Derrick Wiebe pulled down 7 rebounds as Madison out-rebounded Lennox 20-13.
For the 3-3 Orioles, Austin Harms scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds.
Madison is back in action tonight as it hosts Sisseton at the Madison Middle School Gym. Tip-off is at 7:45 on Dakotas Best, AM 1390.
