The 31st annual Texaco Country Showdown is coming to Madison! KJAM is hosting America’s largest country music talent search, designed to find the most promising country music talent in the US.
Local winners advance to one of forty state contests, where the prizes include $1,000 in cash, and the opportunity to compete at one of five regional contests in the fall. The five regional winners receive a trip to the National Final, and the chance to compete for the $100,000 prize. The Madison contest will be held on Friday, July 27th at Library Park in Madison, at 6pm as part of this year’s Crazy Days. It's free to attend, just bring lawn chairs and sunscreen!
The Texaco Country Showdown welcomes individual acts as well as groups to compete. Entry fee is $20. Entry forms are available at KJAM Radio in Downtown Madison, or call KJAM at 256-4514.
