Autism Awareness Light it up Blue Day

Everywhere

April 2nd is Light It Up Blue Day which kicks off Autism Awareness Month. On this day you can show your support to families, friends, researchers, and educators who deal with Autism daily, by wearing blue. You can also purchase blue light bulbs and change out a light in your home or work. According to Autism Speaks, "Autism spectrum disorder and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors."
