The Christians in the Visual Arts traveling exhibition

DSU’s First Bank & Trust Gallery located in the Karl E. Mundt Library

Come to the Table exhibit at DSU (Madison, S.D.) - The Christians in the Visual Arts traveling exhibition, Come to the Table, will be on display at the Dakota State University’s First Bank & Trust Gallery located in the Karl E. Mundt Library on the DSU campus. The exhibit will run from Nov. 2-27, with the community reception scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5-7 p.m.

The CIVA exhibit features thirty-five carefully selected works including everything from historical pieces by Albrecht Durer, to modernist work by Jasper Johns and Sadao Watanabe, to fresh contemporary pieces created by CIVA-member artists. This work, executed in a variety of media, celebrates both the rich community gathered at the Table of Fellowship and the privilege of meeting with God at his Table of Communion.

Christians in Visual Arts (a non-profit 501(c)3 organization) exists to cultivate an incarnational presence in culture, equip artists in their vocational calling, and nurture the relationship between the visual arts and the Christian faith.

Founded in 1979, the organization’s longstanding vision is to help artists, collectors, critics, professors, historians, pastors and arts professionals explore the profound relationship between art and faith.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Madison Area Arts Council in partnership with the First Bank & Trust Gallery, and is free and open to the public.
