South Dakota's fishing waters, excluding tribal trust land, are open to anyone the weekend prior to Memorial Day weekend to fish without a license.
There is also free entrance into all State Parks during the entire weekend.
This is an excellent opportunity to introduce someone to the sport of fishing or to try your luck for the first time. It is also a great time to explore South Dakota's State Parks, discovering all the great scenery and services that they have to offer.
