Recycled Percussion Live Performance

Dakota Prairie Playhouse, 1205 N. Washington Ave.

3rd Place on NBC’s America’s Got Talent 2009

Recycled Percussion has emerged from underground live show sensation to one of the most powerful touring shows in the U.S. The band has single-handedly brought the terms "Power-Percussion" and "Junk Rock" into mainstream music circles with their acclaimed live show. Remarkable hard-rock drumming led by the world’s "fastest extreme drummer" Justin Spencer, and intoxicating hip-hop funk grooves spun by turntablist "DJ Pharaoh" create music that is sophisticated and technical in construction, mesmerizing in execution, and a fist-pumping thrill to experience. Recycled Percussion’s insane live performance is considered to be the peak of on-stage percussion extremity. Performing on everything from their signature "trash" kits, including plastic buckets, huge ladders, mortar casings and giant 50 gallon containers - the band of two drummers, electric guitar and a DJ keep the audience on their feet through 80 minutes of spark-emitting, masterfully played power tools, and a mind-blowing beatbox "vocal artillery" session, backed up by chest crushing, power-driven, sweat-drenched drumming. Recycled Percussion will be at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse, Wednesday March 3rd, 2010. The show will start at 8pm, with the doors opening at 7:30 pm and is an all ages show. The show is sponsored by SAB, Residence Life, Emry Hall, Higbie Hall, Richardson Hall, Zimmermann Hall, 8-Plexes, and the Gaming Club. The Student Senate will be sponsoring the first 100 DSU Students.

Tickets are $2 for DSU students with their student IDS, $3 for DSU faculty and staff, and $5 for the general public (kids under 12 are $3). If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact the DSU Activities Office at (605) 256-5146.
