Valiant Living is a private, non-profit community based facility, provides services to people with diabilities. People may initiate their own request for assistance or may be referred for services by members of their family, guardians, school personnel, Department of Human Services, Department of Social Services, or other service providers.

Upon entry, a service coordinator is identified for each person served. The service coordinator acts as an advocate, assists the person to obtain needed services and benefits, and coordinates service delivery.

Comprehensive assessments are provided to all people served by Valiant Living. Specialized assessments can be provided at the day program located at 706 SW 7th St. and at integrated sites in the community. Subcontract assembly in the shop enables many to earn a paycheck.

Job development, job placement, and job coaching contributes to successful community employment.

Valiant Living provides support in all types of residential locations, including group homes, apartments, and rental houses. This promotes independent living and community involvement.

Training and services are provided to people in their own homes, ranging from follow-along to more intensive help with budgeting, shopping, meal preparation, medication management and personal care.

Funding for services is obtained from a variety of Federal, State and local government sources, as well as private donations.
